
Myneral Labs has won the German Packaging Award 2026 in the Digitalisation category, together with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland (CCEP DE) and Vetropack. The award, given by the German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e.V.), recognises the first process in the beverage industry to make every reusable glass bottle individually traceable.
The relationship began with CCEP's Open Challenge innovation initiative, which Myneral Labs won before the project moved into production.

Each bottle carries a Data Matrix code, engraved into the glass at the hot end during forming, to the CETIE standard by Vetropack. MynVision reads that code on the line at every pass, and builds a continuous record for each bottle: how often it's been filled, and when and why it left circulation. That record replaces the extrapolation the industry has relied on until now.
It started as a pilot at CCEP's plant in Bad Neuenahr and has since been deployed at a second site in Lüneburg.

Vetropack engraves the codes during glass production. CCEP DE manages the project and its integration into production. Myneral Labs provides the camera hardware and the software that reads, verifies, and evaluates each code.
"Two years ago, this started as a challenge from CCEP to prove individual-bottle traceability could work in production. Today it's running across two plants, and this award recognises the value it creates," said Max Boender, CEO of Myneral Labs.

The German Packaging Award is judged annually by an independent panel of experts, recognising the strongest packaging innovations.
